Pulse Secure Windows Client v5.1 - Prevent Client From Running at Login/Startup

I deploy my Pulse Secure Client using a Dell KACE appliance (comparable to Microsoft SCCM in this scenario) to my user base. Some users report that after the client is installed that it auto starts and makes a VPN connection whenever login into their system.

I can manually disable this from happening by removing it from the list of startup programs using 'msconfig.exe'

My question is how can prevent this during the client install? Is there a .mst or .ini file that I can customize to change the installation 'default's for the PS client?

Many Thanks,

All connections that are configured to start automatically attempt to connect to their target networks at startup time.

You can check this by logging in to SA and navigating to

Pulse Secure Client -> Connections -> Click on 'Connection Name' (default) -> Connections -> Click on 'Connections Name' (Default SA) -> Make sure connect automatically is unchecked.

With the preconfig file below value should be set to manual:

connection-policy: "manual"
